Hello everyone and welcome BACK to my DFS likes of the week. The 2018 NFL season official kicked off this past week and boy was there quite a bit of money to win if you played DFS. Whether you won or lost, lets look past week 1 and into week 2, as I give you my favorite DFS plays for the weekend. Make sure to follow me @ezpolizzi_21 on twitter as well as my podcast page @JNJTalksports.
Ben Roethlisberger- DraftKings– $6,900. Fanduel– $7,600
Big Ben had an absolute monster of a game week 1 at Cleveland where he threw for 335 yards and 1 touchdown; and despite turning the ball over 5 times, he still managed 17 Draft Kings points. He’s going up against a Chiefs defense, who allowed 33 points to Philip Rivers last week. I expect Big Ben to expose this Chiefs defense and I expect Mahomes to lead this offense to score in bunches. In his career, Big Ben has a 115.8 passer rating against the Chiefs in his career while passing for 14 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. He’ll cook up that Chiefs defense and will finish as a top3 QB this week.
James White– DraftKings– $4,500. Fanduel– $5,900.
This is strictly based off the health of either Sexy Rexy or Sony Michel. If even ONE of them are out this week due to injuries, or even both, James White is not only DFS gold this week for tournament plays, but at a minimum a 3x value play this week. I actually expect the Patriots to limit Sony Michel if he plays and don’t expect Rex Burkhead to be cleared for week 2. The Patriots are already thin at the position and James White, at his price, is so worth a tournament play.
James Conner- I AM STAYING IN THE FLAMES! Give me some James Conner this week in a full work load against a Chiefs defense that allowed BOTH Gordon and Ekeler to have RB1 games last week. In a game, that I fully believe to be a shootout, the Steelers will score 30+ points which means a lot of yards and touchdown opportunities to go around.
Dalvin Cook- Why in the world is Cook’s price less than 7K on DraftKings and FanDuel? He got the work and dominated the snap count in the backfield last week for the Minnesota Vikings. And although the box score doesn’t tell the tale, Cook looked good. The Vikings and Packers matchup is going to be a hard fought battle in what I anticipate as a low scoring effort. Dalvin Cook will get full workload after showing his coaches he’s back from the ACL injury. Oh, and the Packers allowed 25 PPG to the position last year.
Juju Smith-Schuster– DraftKings– $6,400. Fanduel– $7,200.
JuJu has been on a tear dating back to the 2nd half of the season in 2017. People questioned the man’s fantasy football high ADP. But after a strong week 1 with 5 catches for 119 yards, he’s looking good with yet another juicy matchup in week 2. Every week, I like to give you guys a stack and this Big Ben/Juju stack is perfect. I love me some AB this week, too, but at the discount you can get Juju for, it may be worth to not pay up in price. The Chiefs allowed 418 passing yards and 3 touchdowns through the air last week. The Steelers don’t have a dual threat in the backfield like the Chargers do, therefore, more passes to the WR’s on this team.
George Kittle– DraftKings– $3,800. Fanduel– $5,600.
George Kittle dropped a potential 80 yard touchdown last week, which would’ve gotten the fantasy world licking their chops over a Kittle breakout had he caught it. I have news for you, it’s coming soon, so soon that you may want to take advantage of his RIDICULOUSLY cheap DFS price on both sites. Kittle had 9 targets and turned them into 5 catches for 90 yards. If you look at George Kittles next gen stats on his route chart, this guy just goes down the field. And out of ALL NFL players whom have received a pass through the first 1 week of the season, George Kittle has the 12th best separation in the league. Goodwin is out week 2 so I fully expect a bump in Kittle’s targets against a Detroit Lions defense that allowed 8 touchdowns to the position last year.
That will do it for week 2 NFL DFS plays, whether that be on Fanduel or DraftKings. Remember ladies and gents, gamble and play responsibly and most importantly, good luck!
