Justin Polizzi

Hello everyone and welcome to my DFS likes of the week. I hope you read my article last week and won some money like I did. I missed on two players and those were Devin Funchess and Vernon Davis. Not a bad week considering I cashed out on 4/5 plays. This will be my last article of the regular season until the NFL playoffs where I’ll be doing DFS as usual. With that said, let’s get this started and for those of you in championship week, good luck.

Blake Bortles- DraftKings– $6,500. FanDuel– $7,600

Bortles won me a lot of cash last week and so with this week, I am staying in the FLAMES! Bottles threw for 326 yards and 3 touchdowns last week for a total of 25 points. He now has 18 plus points in 5 of his last 6 games and 23 plus points in 3 of his last 4. The San Francisco 49ers give up the 3rd most points to the position and just allowed there 3rd QB1 in the last 4 weeks, including a week against Blane Gabbert. The 49ers can only stop the run and haven’t allowed a rush TD since week 8. Once again, I expect the Jaguars to rely on Bortles arm as they fight for a first-round bye.

Case Keenum– This guy is one of the hottest QB’s in the league right now and after seeing the passing performance Cam had against the depleted Packers defense, I’d expect more or less of the same thing. Plus, he plays Saturday, if he craps the bed, you can always enter another lineup before Sundays games.

Dion Lewis DraftKings– $6,000. FanDuel– $6,700.

Buffalo is allowing 27.5 points per game to the RB position and that is the most in all of football. Lewis is more known for his catching ability and this same Bills defense allowed Kenyan Drake to finish with 6 catches for 35 yards last week. Consider Lewis good for at least 15 carries in a game they should be up and you’re looking at an RB with a 6K price who will see almost, if not more than, 20 touches. Lewis is averaging 5.2 yards per carry and has more 20+ runs than RB’s like Kamara, Gordon, and Bell. Oh yeah and Burkhead is OUT.

Wide Receiver:

Juju Smith-SchusterDraftKings– $6,400. FanDuel– $7,000.

Juju might be a popular pick in DFS plays this week and rightfully so. But realistically Bryant may be own just as much since he’s cheaper and has bigger play upside, especially with Antonio Brown out. But I’ll take Juju, whom in his rookie year, already has great chemistry with Big Ben. Juju has been dominating with Brown in or out the lineup. In the first 7 games of the season, Juju had a total of 26 targets. In the 7 games the Steelers had after, he’s received 36 targets and he missed 2 games. So with Brown officially out in week 16, I expect Juju to get a heavy dose of targets, somewhere in the mid-teens. It helps that Houston is allowing 35.4 points per game to the position.

Tight End:

Ricky Seals-Jones DraftKings– $3,500. FanDuel– $5,200.

Ricky Seals-Jones is a very interesting play this week. He’s going up a Giants defense that allows the most fantasy points to the position with 17.6 a game. That’s absurd, for a team to completely not be able to guard the TE position. They’ve allowed the most yards (941) and touchdowns (13) to the position as a whole. We saw what Seals-Jones can do earlier in the season when he had two great performances back to back in weeks 11 and 12. He’s also received 5 or more targets in 4 out of his last 5 games. At the ending of the day, you’re taking possibly a 3x salary player against a team that’s the worse against his position.

BearsDraftKings– $3,500. FanDuel– $4,800.

I love the Bears defense this week as a great SAFE play especially for the first tier price they are this week. They get the Browns at home in what should be a low scoring a fair. Teams defenses against the Browns have failed to score 10 or more points 5 times. The Browns also have a PVO of 6.3 above the leagues average of 6.5 meaning they allow 12.8 points per game to defenses which is the most in fantasy football.

ChiefsDraftKings– $3,300. FanDuel– $4,500

This is my upside play of the week for defense. I’ve been on point with my DFS defenses this year and I take a lot of pride in that especially because I am not a big fan of investing in highly priced defenses when there is much more value to be found in the cheaper ones. The Chiefs defense was abysmal most of the season but they’ve been solid at home averaging 10.15 points per game, including back to back weeks with a top 5 scoring defense. Miami is allowing the 3rd most points to opposing defenses in the last 4 weeks.
