Hello everyone and welcome to my DFS likes of the week. We’re in the crucial week 13, where people are fighting for playoff spots in their yearly leagues; I wish everyone the best of luck. For those of you playing DFS this week, consider my starts and you should win some money. I’m personally at 2k profits this year. Down in profits from last year but this has been a very unpredictable fantasy season. But, nonetheless, let’s get this started.
Marcus Mariota– DraftKings– $6,200. FanDuel– $7,400
I wrote about him last week and the kid disappointed. But Mariota is too good of a talent to have back to back weeks of struggling games. I’ll give him this, he finally looks healthy. At home, Mariota is averaging 18.4 fantasy points per game. Houston has allowed 20 points per game to the QB position all year. Here’s the crazy thing, Houston is allowing 23.5 points per game to the QB position on the ROAD! That’s including two games allowing 9 points to both Dalton and Flacco. Houston’s defense isn’t the same and we should finally see a glimpse of late 2016 Mariota.
Drew Brees– A colleague of mine wrote about him and expressed how the Panthers gave up three passing touchdowns last week to Josh McCown. He’s absolutely right, but here’s a little something extra, the Panthers rank 3rd best against RB’s fantasy wise and rank 10th best against QB’s in fantasy. But when the Panthers play against a top15 QB they allow 19.5 points per game to the position which would place them in the top5 MOST POINTS allowed to QB’s. To give you an idea, those QB’s are Brees(week 3), Brady, Wentz, Stafford, and Ryan. Brees is a great buy this week. Shoutout to Domcinto_11.
Jordan Howard– DraftKings– $6,500. FanDuel– $7,500.
Jordan Howard is my RB1 this week. He’s not even in the top12 most expensive RB’s this week and that’s embarrassing for the DFS sites, in my opinion. But, he has struggled of late with 2 of his last 3 games scoring under 6 points, but San Fran gives up the points to RB’s in fantasy. They held their own last week against a Seattle offense that barely runs the ball so don’t let that fool you. Play Jordan, he’s my gut feeling player this week.
Isaiah Crowell– Duke Johnson is the most dangerous weapon on this Browns team, being able to run and catch the ball. But Crowell has been an amazing asset to teams who’ve held on to him this deep into the season. In one league I am 8-4 and I can’t explain how happy I am to own him. He’s been consistent and has scored 10+ points in 5 of his last 6 games; that includes two games of over 15 points. Going up against the defense that allows the 5th most points to RB’s, definitely helps justify taking Crowell this week.
Corey Davis– DraftKings– $5,100. FanDuel– $5,900.
Listen, I’ll be the first one to tell you what a risk he is. But if Matthews doesn’t play, Corey Davis is an AMAZING play this week. He has received north of 6 targets every game he’s played this year. Matthews was limited in Friday’s practice which means he’ll be limited on Sunday regardless if he play’s or not. Davis has 21 targets in his last 3 games and has actually had more targets when Matthews is playing. He’s a great WR2/Flex in DFS this week at this price, with the ceiling he provides.
Cordarrelle Patterson– DraftKings– $3,400. FanDuel– $5,500
I’m going, to be honest, there isn’t much statistics to justify taking him this week. But if you spend your money elsewhere and wisely, Patterson is a GREAT CHEAP play this week. He’s going up against the Giants at home who allow the 10th most points to WR’s and has made a switch at QB which means more possessions for Oakland. I’d take a chance on Patterson this week if I’m investing highly elsewhere.
Jared Cook– DraftKings– $4,600. FanDuel– $5,500.
Same reason I believe in Patterson, I believe in Cook. Cook probably cost you a win last week or some money with his .2 points scored against the Denver Broncos. But the Raiders are without Cooper and Crabtree Sunday leaving Patterson and Seth Roberts as the top WR targets this week. I don’t recommend taking both Patterson and Cook this week, as one of them will definitely have a huge game. I’ll leave it on this note, the Giants have allowed 10 touchdowns to tight ends in 11 games this season. Cook is an AMAZING start this week.
Titans– DraftKings– $3,400. FanDuel– $4,700.
With 11 sacks in their last 2 games (8 last week) and against a Houston offense that has allowed 5 sacks and 3 picks in their last 2 games; the Titans are due for a huge defensive performance at home. It isn’t anything to be excited about, but everyone will be taking the Jaguars defense against the Colts at home. Try the Broncos defense at Miami this week if the Titans defense doesn’t bold well with you.
